Faithful Nest

Living faithful in a faithless world

Zombie Apocalypse

THE catastrophe has descended on our town!

Though the populace is out moving around

They are strangely focused on their singular mission,

The Stepford Wives have nothing on this condition.

Here and there are lonely bodies,

While sometimes groups of 2 or 3 or more,

all walk staring at their hands,

clearly follow the same plans.

Dire prognostication

predicted electronic domination.

Now we see the culmination

of a digital fascination.

There is no concern for safety

as they wander day and nightly.

No harm seems intended

but it is not prevented.

Bumping into other objects

Ignoring features that protect

The real world is supplanted

by a screen that is augmented.

A wall one cannot penetrate

keeps each body separate

Though side by side they continue

no conversation will ensue.

But wait! There’s interaction

with a fictional distraction.

The creatures they pursue

turn the tables – it is true!

Dire prognostication

predicted electronic domination.

Now we see the culmination

of a digital fascination.

This searching seems quixotic

finding critters so phantasmic

the objects they’re collecting

Keep them from the world connecting.
