Faithful Nest

Living faithful in a faithless world

Day 7 – or is it?

The challenge was off to a rolling start. Propelled by so much good intention, but we all know where that leads. Indeed.

Shocked daily by wanton disregard for diplomacy, respect, promises, protection, alliances… Oh, dear, the list is written in red and subject to the infamous chainsaw on an hourly basis. This is what gets in my way.

Repeatedly, I’ve turned to Solitaire and friendly solace in social media. What it isn’t doing is helping me create. Not any of it is conducive to assuaging panic or calming nerves that fire like sparklers.

Yesterday I bought myself a new notebook (the cheapest I could find) and began again. I spent 30 minutes trying to pull up and capture words. Whack-a-mole word games. Previously I had printed an image I would like to slather onto reality. I will.

Begin again. Or carry on. When we are out on one of our infamous adventure bike rides, we sometimes lose track of how to get home. We regroup, compare notes, and plan our next section. When it all seems so far away, check your coordinates and pedal on. Truth, keep calm and carry on.

Thank you for the challenge. 93 to go.
