Have you ever felt an invisible hand moving the winds and pathways of your life? Watching events unfold and an amazing series of “lucky breaks” moving my life forward grabs my focus. Still I wonder…
We strive to bring good work (and words) to the page. Time and effort go into satisfying artistry. Whether you are a writer, an artist, or a musician, you have a message for the world. I had a friend and mentor who always asked “What do you want the reader to come away with?” That is the basis for great writing. Have a message that fills the spaces between words and flows through your entire piece.
The invisible hand you feel is not so much a rush of lucky breaks as it is the momentum you’ve created. Some of us have longer hills, but after pushing and pushing up the hill, we reach the pitch and begin momentum down the other side. For me, the energy comes from the message in each piece. Take advantage of breaks when you have lost focus, but remember to come back to it.
Don’t give up before you’ve reached the other side. Look for the hope and wonder of your work and bring it to the world.
